First, start with a square piece of paper and fold it in half diagonally to form a triangle. Fold the top corners down to meet at the center crease, creating a diamond shape. Then, fold the bottom corner up to meet the top edge, leaving a small triangle at the bottom. Flip the paper over and repeat the same folds on the other side.
Next, fold each side of the diamond towards the center crease, forming a narrow point at both ends. Open up these folds slightly to create triangular sections that will become the ship's sails. Use your fingers to gently push out these triangles for a more dynamic look. Finally, turn your paper ship over and carefully stand it upright by gently opening out its base for display.
For an extra touch, you can even decorate your paper ship with markers or colored pencils to give it some personality before setting sail on imaginary seas. Experiment with different sizes or types of paper to see how they affect your final creation – happy crafting!
