How to Make Paper Speed Boat

Making a paper speed boat can be a fun and inexpensive DIY project for both kids and adults. To create your own floating masterpiece, start by folding a sheet of paper in half horizontally. Then, fold the corners of the folded edge down to meet the center crease, forming two triangles at the top. Fold up the bottom edge to cover the triangles, creating a rectangular shape with pointed ends.

Next, fold each side of the rectangle inward towards the center to form two triangular flaps that overlap slightly in the middle. Carefully open up these flaps and then fold them downwards along their top edges, creating a streamlined shape resembling a boat's hull. At this point, you can add some personal touches by decorating your boat with colored pencils or markers.

Once your paper speed boat is complete, take it to a large basin or pool filled with water and gently release it on its voyage. Depending on how well you've constructed it, your handmade boat should glide gracefully across the water's surface in an impressive display of hydrodynamic engineering!

Remember that experimenting with different sizes and shapes of paper can result in varying degrees of success when constructing your own speed boats — so don't hesitate to try out various designs until you find one that truly floats!
